Matt Priem joined insideEDGE in 2016, bringing over four years of experience in the sport and leisure sectors. Prior to his role at insideEDGE, Matt worked as a Sports Business Planner at a Melbourne-based consultancy, where he was responsible for delivering sports development plans, recreation needs assessments, and feasibility studies.
His project work included conducting supply and demand analysis, participation and demographic assessments, and identifying trends in facility usage.
Before transitioning into the sports industry, Matt worked as a Graduate Business Analyst at a leading commercial information and insight company. Additionally, he has experience in digital marketing, having served as the Director of Digital Marketing for a not-for-profit organization and as a Social Media Manager for a Red Cross subsidiary. This background has made Matt highly proficient in various digital programs and platforms.
At insideEDGE, Matt has led participation-based projects for state sporting bodies such as Cricket Victoria, AFL Victoria, and the Victorian Rugby Union. His expertise in data analysis and visualization enables him to deliver valuable insights through the use of dashboards and visualizations, supporting a variety of insideEDGE projects.
Matt is skilled in Tableau Software, where he has created numerous analysis dashboards for sport, recreation, and community-based projects. He is also proficient in producing both static (QGIS) and interactive (Carto) maps, including facility locations, participation hot spots, player/member catchments, and travel analysis. Additionally, Matt is experienced in using SurveyMonkey for data collection during consultation phases and in sharing relevant information through platforms like MailChimp and insideEDGE’s social media channels.
