Michael is a dedicated professional to the sport, leisure, recreation and parks industries. His knowledge and skills span 15 years of operations and event delivery, sport, recreation and government planning, facility management and commercial business development.
Michael's work history includes major event planning and delivery in Sydney and Manchester (Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games). He also has international experience in sports facility and stadia development, having worked with the UK's largest sporting charity, the Football Foundation, as a consultant advising on, developing, and managing sports facility development projects.
Before launching insideEDGE, Michael worked for a number of consultancy practices in both London and Melbourne, managing a variety of projects for sport, government and community organisations. Extensive consultancy experience within these sectors, combined with experience in managing leisure facility and services contracts in local government, provides Michael with a well rounded approach to consultancy from planning and management perspectives.
Gavin is a dedicated tertiary qualified leisure professional with 15 years experience in managing local and state government projects and in leisure facility management.
Gavin’s work history has included the management of leisure facilities and programs with the YMCA and extensive leisure facility contract management experience, having managed the contract operations of the Nillumbik Shire’s five major sport, leisure and aquatic facilities.
In a previous role as a State Facilities Consultant for Sport and Recreation Victoria, Gavin delivered a range of major capital works projects as part of the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games program. Gavin’s diversity of experience in facility planning, delivery and management, combined with exceptional stakeholder engagement skills at community, executive and government levels provides him with great knowledge to advise on strategic, business, operational and policy development projects with insideEDGE.
Glenn Mulcahy is an experienced recreation and leisure professional with over 25 years experience working in local and state government. Glenn has a proven track record in strategic planning, policy development and project management and has consistently delivered complex projects concurrently, within budget and on time.
Before joining insideEDGE, Glenn worked as a Sport and Recreation Coordinator for the City of Melton, one of the largest growth municipalities in Victoria.
Whilst employed at the City of Melton, Glenn was responsible for the delivery of a range of planning and capital projects, including the Bridge Road Athletics and Hockey Facility, Arnolds Creek Recreation Reserve Development and the City Vista Recreation Reserve Development. All of these projects required sound project management, significant third party funding, master and strategic planning. Glenn’s work history in the sector is extensive and includes major event planning and capital works delivery for the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games (via the Office of Commonwealth Games Coordination).
Glenn is passionate about providing quality and well researched plans and strategies for local and state government clients, that improves the physical and mental health of local communities.
Senior Consultant - Sport, Recreation and Open Space
Kelly has been a professional within the sport, leisure and open space industry for over 10 years, with experience at both a state and local government level in South Australia. Kelly leads insideEDGE's South Australian office, bringing the trademark insideEDGE quality and innovation to the South Australian government, sport, recreation and community sectors.
Her work history includes managing the Active Communities Team at the City of Holdfast Bay in Adelaide, where she was responsible for a large portfolio including Sport, Recreation, Open Space, Club Development, Volunteers, Social Planning and Community Development, Community Centres, Youth, Arts and Culture. She has also held roles working in the South Australian Government's Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure, coordinating the Planning and Development Fund grant program, which focused on open space and public realm projects across South Australia.
Kelly provides a unique area of knowledge and expertise within the insideEDGE team in the Open Space and Active Lifestyle field, as well as her industry leadership qualities from her six years on the Parks and Leisure (PLA) SA/NT Board.
Travis Switzer is a dedicated sport and leisure industry professional with more than 10 years experience working within AFL Victoria and Local Government in the community sport sector.
Prior to joining insideEDGE, Travis was the Region General Manager for AFL Gippsland for 5 years. In this role he was responsible for leading the Gippsland region team, a region with over 13,000 football participants incorporating over 120 clubs, 8 senior football leagues, 6 junior football leagues, 2 female competitions and 5 umpire associations.
Travis is passionate about sport and it’s benefits for a community having either coached, played, worked and/or been involved in AFL, netball, cricket, tennis and basketball since his youth.
Digital Product Consultant
Matt has worked as a sport and leisure professional for over four years across a range of roles including business and industry analysis, marketing and data visualisation. Before joining insideEDGE, Matt was employed as a Sports Business Planner, where he assisted in the development of recreation and sports strategies across Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania.
Matt is well versed in all things digital, as a Social Media Manager for a Red Cross subsidiary and a Director of Digital Marketing for the Sports Environment Alliance, he has successfully contributed to the start-up process, growth and promotion of these not for profit organisations.
Since joining insideEDGE in early 2016, Matt has driven a number of technological and project innovations and has been responsible for the growth of our company services to now include data visualisation, dashboard reporting and GIS mapping.
Kate is insideEDGE's Business Administrator overseeing the general office administrative functions for both the Melbourne and Adelaide offices, including bookkeeping, liaising with clients and service providers, and assisting the insideEDGE team to deliver a range of projects. Kate is also experienced in project and contract management, and event planning and delivery.
Prior to joining the insideEDGE team, Kate worked as an Executive Officer for her local Bendigo Community Bank and volunteered as Chair of a local not for profit childcare centre. Previously she has worked for the Victorian State Government as Contract Manager for the Docklands Film and Television Studios Project and as a Consultancy Project Manager for the University of Melbourne.
