insideEDGE is proud to be working again in the regional planning space for football, after our recent appointment to the Western Metropolitan Region Football Facilities Strategy project.
AFL Victoria and five Local Government Authorities (LGA's) within the Western Metropolitan region, in association with the community football leagues, have partnered to develop a Football Facilities Strategy to address current and future demand for infrastructure and support the growth of football.
The Western Metropolitan Region incorporates five Local Government Areas of Hobsons Bay City Council, Melton City Council, Wyndham City Council, Maribyrnong City Council and Brimbank City Council.
A regional approach to football facility planning across the Western Metropolitan region will provide an understanding of current and future demand, provide recommendations for new facilities and ensure greater access to higher quality facilities for the region's current and future residential populations.
The project will focus on addressing both football infrastructure and sports development needs and aims to provide a clear and coordinated structure for football governance and project delivery for the next decade.
